Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A query entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the name or case number and supplies its result. Marengo County Court Docket does not keep a separate log of those query terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email may be retained long enough to review and answer it. Messages remain within the operating team unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the server can receive routine technical details about the visit:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files saved on a device. They support aggregate analytics, such as which pages receive visits and where a session ends. Browser controls can block cookies, although doing so may change how some features behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Keeping the site up, running, and loading quickly
- Sending your search requests to the right partner service
- Figuring out which pages people find useful and which need work
- Tracking down and fixing technical issues
- Showing ads that may line up with your interests
No Court-Record Data on File
This site does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of Marengo County dockets or personal case information. It publishes general reference material about the Marengo County Circuit Clerk, Alabama trial courts, and official search channels. Visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes. Information submitted there is governed by that provider's privacy policy, retention terms, and sharing rules. Review those terms before sending a query because this policy does not control the provider.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to court pages, clerk resources, Alabama case systems, legal-aid material, or outside search services. Once a visitor leaves this domain, the destination's policy governs. Check it before providing personal details.
Advertising providers may use their own technology to measure activity across sites and select ads. That processing occurs on the provider's systems.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security practices protect information in the site's control. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, so a breach-free result cannot be promised.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. Information identified as belonging to a minor will be reviewed for deletion.
Your Data Rights
Alabama law may provide rights that apply to particular records or uses of personal data. Court-record access itself is governed by the Alabama Rules of Court-Record Privacy and Confidentiality, Rule 30 and Rule 33 of the Alabama Rules of Judicial Administration, and the inspection principle in Ala. Code § 36-12-40. Those rules concern official court custodians, not a private site's visitor logs. For data held by this site, a visitor may:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
Updates to This Policy
This policy may change as site practices or legal duties change. A revised version will appear here with an updated effective date.
